A lot of the recent spam in this group is signed by a non-existent company called “Accurate Prospect” or “Accurateprospects Inc,” usually with an address in Folsom, California. But sometimes they call it “Initiate Venture LLC,” “Data Services Inc.,” “Email Bridge Inc.,” or something else.

The address used is really only a rented mailbox, not an office address: 1024 Iron Point Road Folsom, California 95630. The phone number in these spams is commonly 800 305 1062. They also use a mailbox in the UK, which they also try to pass off as an office address: 60 Cannon Street, London EC4N 6NP.

Other possible mailbox addresses and phone numbers used in these spam / scam emails include several in Texas (for example, 9404 Business Drive, Austin, TX 78758, 800 325 7831), a couple in New York City (28 9th Broadway, New York 10003 Ph: 800-325-7831; and 100 Church Street, 7th Floor, New York City, 10007, 800-316-0891), and many more!

There is no real “Accurate Prospects” company or web site, so they use any means possible, and as many identities as possible, to get their spam out there, including AOL and Google. For example, recent “Accurate Prospects” spam that you receive may be signed with one of these fake names (which sometimes contain “.us” in the address”):

Sometimes they even claim — falsely, no doubt — to be a “DMA Approved Organization!”

The IP addresses of these servers is constantly changing, in the hope that nobody ever notices, and to help keep these servers (and the softlayer.com network) from getting blacklisted.

For example, the Data Champions’ anonymous spam server inforelaymedia.com is hosted on softlayer.com at 174.36.164.137. Perhaps you’ve received spam from that server selling email addresses, signed by one of these bogus identities from non-existent companies [note that entries 2-4 have very similar phone numbers]:

• A neil.cornelius@aol.com address was invented for spam emails being sent from their optimailserver.com [184.82.2.191] and socnket.com [184.22.125.136] spam servers. These spams might be signed “Business Email Contacts, Inc., 100 Church Street, 7th Floor, New York City, NY 10007″ or “Database Manager, Accurate Contacts, Inc, 140 Broadway, New York City, New York 1005.” These addresses are rented mailboxes, not offices.
