One B2B scam\/spam we’ve seen, apparently from one of the many fake company names in the India-based Data Champions group<\/a>, is signed by a so-called “Joan Slaughter” at jslaughter@professionalhubs.com.<\/p>\n

“Joan Slaughter” spam is supposedly a “Business development consultant” at a company called “Professional Hubs” (professionalhubs.com), at least that what the spam is signed. Of course, there’s no phone number or other valid contact information in the spam.<\/p>\n

It turns out that there’s no web site at profesionalhubs.com, and the registration for the domain is anonymous and hidden. What’s more, the spam was sent from an anonymous spam server called activeapps.biz [199.175.48.231], which has apparently sent other spam on behalf of this same group of scammers using fake company and person names to try to sell their email lists.<\/p>\n

joan.slaughter@superxestar.com<\/strong><\/p>\n

Another one of their phony Joan Slaughter aliases selling email addresses uses a different return address: joan.slaughter@superxestar.com.<\/p>\n

The superxestar.com domain has been used to sign a lot of their spam lately, but the fake company name, and the snail-mail address in the signature (often fake) changes frequently.<\/p>\n

In this particular batch of Data Champions spam, “Joan Slaughter” is a Business development consultant for “Gaintmail Services Pvt Ltd – We Create Opportunities!” — a fake company name that is using 2054 Sacramento St San Francisco, CA 94204 as its contact address. Google Maps has difficulty locating this address, perhaps because it doesn’t exist.<\/p>\n

Different phony addresses have been used in other superxestar.com and nextestar.com spams before, for example:<\/p>\n
