Eworldpublishers.com, and docique.com are two of the many fake-company scam domains we’ve been seeing a lot of lately in the rotation of domains used by the India-based Data Champions / Sloan Marketing scam and spam group, and similar entities.

A few other similar scam domains include: pisietech.com, rostaline.com, tacobitech.com, superxestar.com, tacsit.com, pd-marketing.net, b2boptinmails.com, carnislit.com, etc.

A few fake addresses and fake company names in the spam signatures, such as:

More scams selling email lists, apparently from the India-based Data Champions / Sloan Marketing scam and spam group and similar entities. Many of these domains don’t even have a web site.

While poking around on Facebook and LinkedIn, we were led to a Facebook user called InfoDataHouse (https://www.facebook.com/InfoDataHouse/info). Something about the name sounded familiar.

Their address, as listed on their web site is 2500 CityWest Blvd.,Suite 300 Houston, TX. Well, that just happens to be the address of virtual office space for rent by Regus. It’s not a real office address.

The InfoDataHouse web site claims they have 1100 employees “worldwide.” If they’re a big and real company, why are they not showing the address of their big corporate headquarters in Houston?

Additionally, the registration of their website’s domain name is anonymous at the time of this writing. The web site is hosted at Hurricane Electric right now, as are many domains held by the India-based Data Champions / Sloan Marketing B2B scam and spam group.

Scam?

It turns out that we discussed some of the fraudulent LinkedIn profiles belonging to this InfoDataHouse / InfoDataGroup / InfoDMail / IDH group a while back at www.b2b-bl.com/?p=194. Commonly, the phony resumes for these phony people read more like advertisements than resumes.

These fake LinkedIn profiles sometimes connect with each other, and occasionally recommend each other, to give the appearance that they are real persons.

We went back to LinkedIn to refresh our memory, and noticed that one of this fake company’s “employees” has changed its name and photo… When we last looked, the LinkedIn page at www.linkedin.com/in/infodatahouse belonged to a phony “Eden Hazard, Sr. Manager at InfoDataHouse,” with a profile photo stolen from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eden_Hazard .

Now, www.linkedin.com/in/infodatahouse belongs to a new fake profile, decorated with a different stolen photo. The new title here is “David Benteke, Sr. Manager at InfoDataHouse, Plano, Texas, and the photo on profile page is stolen from clip art. You’ll find this photo used on other web sites, such as at at www.morigontech.com/company and www.lumension.com/itgrc-software/IT-risk-manager.aspx.

They even have a forgettable little blog at infodatahouse.blogspot.com….

Recent scam email sample below, most likely from the India-based Data Champions / Sloan Marketing scam and spam group…

This spam uses a fake company name, “American Data Products” (adp-solutions.com), signed by a so-called lana.chapman@adp-solutions.com. No contact information is available for this “company.” The web site was just recently registered and has nothing on it, like most (but not all) of the scam web domains used by this scam group.

Different versions of this spam are signed with a different fake company name: “AD Solutions”: Joanna Barber (joanna.barber@adp-solutions.com), Marketing Executive, 2403 Russell Long Blvd., Canyon, TX 79015. They hope you’ll never notice, but this address is for West Texas A&M University; it’s not an office address.

This is spam from colocrossing.com [192.210.139.143], who occasionally hosts domains and email services for this spam / scam group.

Since many of these scammers are based in India, special effort is sometimes used to make it sound like they are located in North America.

For example, previous similar spam in this same category is signed by another non-existent company called “American Accurate Data Inc.” (aadatabizleads.com / aadatainc.com). Some of that spam is signed by “Sandra Wilson” (LOL), whose name they’ve previously used in spam signed sandra@flmails.com (“Sandra Wilson, Online marketing manager, Flmails Inc (302) 409-0344″). Interestingly, that phone number has been seen also in spam signed “Kristen Brown (kristen@leadsinfo.us), Online Marketing Manager, Leadsinfo, Inc, (302) 409-0344.” Apparently more non-existent companies.

“American Accurate Data” spam has also been signed with by “davis@aadatabizleads.com“: “Davis Mark, Business Development Coordinator, American Accurate Data Inc.”

Signed “Lauren Morrison, Marketing Executive – Uber Marketers, 225, Level -2 Madison Avenue, Albany, NY 12230, United States, 518-621-2695.” Same spam as the one above except they’ve changed the name of the fake employee and the fake company from leadtailors.net to ubermarketers.com. Address didn’t change, however.
• gerard.butler@unicemail.com. Signed “Gerard Butler, Business Development, Division Of E-mail & Data Services, UNIC Info, Inc.” Non-existent company, no phone number.

The Data Champions and similar groups also use cheap mail and anonymous services such as aol.com and google.com for their spam. Some sample addresses:

• brian.becker@aol.com. Signed “Brian Becker, Online Marketing Specialist, Email Bridge, Inc, 100 Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78701.” Email Bridge is a fake company and no suite number has been provided for phony address in the Congress Ave office tower. No phone number either. Spam subject: “Professionals Industry Database.”
• stacy.nelson.us@gmail.com. Stacy Nelson, Online Marketing Manager, Lead Marketers, Inc., #820, 4th Floor Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107, USA, Phone: 484-221-6289. Company doesn’t exist, and somehow they forgot to specify which suite number they occupy in that Philadelphia office building. Spam subject: “Email Appending Solution.”
• jennifer.mintz@aol.com. Signed “Jennifer Mintz, Database Marketing Executive, UberMarketers, North Hero, VT 05474, USA, 888 329 3394 or 60 Cannon Street, London.” Non-existent company (sometimes seen as ubermarketers.com). Spam subject: “B2B/B2C Email List & Appending solution.”
• james.michae@aol.com. Signed “James Michae, Online Marketing Specialist, Email Bridge, Inc, 100 Congress Ave Austin, TX 78701 USA.” That fake Email Bridge company name again. Spam subject: “Business leads Follow up.”

Do any of these “people” actually exist, or are they just phony Linked In profiles using stolen photos? Most of these questionable Linked In profiles appear connected in some way with apparently fake companies such as those seen in B2B spam selling email lists from the India-based Data Champions / Sloan Marketing scam and spam group.

We’ve seen many of these fake companies well represented in spam, often using different mailbox addresses and phone numbers, depending on which spam you receive (and from many fake employee names).

Perhaps a few of your colleagues have accepted Linked In invitations to “connect” from these fake people, just to boost the number of “connections” they have!

So much spam in your company’s mail server selling email addresses on behalf of the India-based “Data Champions / Sloan Marketing” spam/scam group and similar entities… Here are a few we’ve seen lately:

Spam signed apxstar.com

Apxstar.com is an often-seen fake company and the fake employee signatures in spam from this domain name mail use fake addresses as well. Alternate names for this fake company are many; a few are “Asyn Services Pvt Ltd,” “Gaintmail Services Pvt Ltd,” and “BigMail services Pvt Ltd”

• bs@mxpdtwelve.info: Bryan Spuler, Omaha, NE 68144, USA (no company name, no phone number). Spam sent from their anonymous spam server called bigoffers2.info [74.3.161.115] sometimes with web bugs on their long-known scam website called sale-bluebase.com.
• rolsen@getyourbusiness.info: Robert Olson, “Senior Marketing Manager,” DB Media Company, 2150 Sunshine Pl, Miami, FL 53132-2542. Spam sent from their anonymous spam server called bluebasemediacenter.info [206.72.203.231] with web bugs hosted on their supersalemarket.us spam site. They have many junk spam domains containing the word “bluebase” like this one. Their 2150 Sunshine Pl address amusingly moves from Miami to Columbus, OH in the entry below.
• ds@wear-bluebasethree.info: Don Steiner, “Senior Marketing Manager,” Database Media Company (fake name, almost like the one in the entry above), 2150 Sunshine Pl, Columbus, OH 43232-6542. They have many junk spam domains containing the word “bluebase” like this one. Spam sent from their anonymous spam server called supersalemarket.us [46.165.192.142] with web bugs hosted on their supersuccess.us spam site. Their 2150 Sunshine Pl address amusingly was shown as in Miami, instead of Columbus, in the entry just above.

Fake employee names, fake company names

Maybe you’ve seen some of the same rotation of fake company names and employee names, often with no addresses or phone numbers, selling email lists, often on behalf of a India-based B2B email-list scam group sometimes known as the “Data Champions.”

And did you know that many of these fake employees even have their own LinkedIn page now? (hoping to trick you into believing the people are real.)

Some of their spams selling email lists are signed Lynn Rigaud, lynn.rigaud@999response.info, 999 Response Company, Novi, MI – 48355 (a brand-new anonymous domain registered just yesterday). We couldn’t find any record of any such company in real life, and it apparently doesn’t have an address, phone number, nor web site.

Similar spams are signed Lynn Rigaud, lynn.rigaud@qualified-prospects.com, Lynn Rigaud, V P, Quality Response, which is apparently another non-existent company. Qualified-prospects.com has no web site at this time.

Some of this spam gets mailed from an anonymous mailing server called echomailer1.com (echomail.com), from which some companies block email.

clickcontacts.net

Have you received spam selling email lists from clickcontacts.net yet? If so, you might see signatures like emily.rose@clickcontacts.net and anna.white@clickcontacts.net.

Supposedly, “Anna White” is Business Development, Client Solutions, phone 800-971-2028, ext 4532, whereas “Emily Rose” often has no contact info whatsoever.

These spams are sent from anonymous spam servers such as edigihost.com [69.55.55.248] and inforelaysrvr.biz [208.115.196.59]

Their “Brenda Jones” alias has been signing spam as giantwebdata.com, another anonymous domain for a company that appears to not exist. Then it gets mailed from one of the low-volume anonymous Data Champions spam servers that nobody seems to notice, like ehostsrvr.com [198.144.187.75].

apxstar.com

The new apxstar.com domain has apparently been added to the superxestar.com and nextestar.com junk domain names that appear in many of their spams signed with fake company names like Gaintmail Services Pvt Ltd, BigMail Services Pvt Ltd, Hexcom Services Pvt Ltd, etc. A fake mailing address used in many of these recent scam emails is 2054 Sacramento St San Francisco, CA 94204 .

You might see fake sender names on these spams like julia.campbell@apxstar.com, derick.james@apxstar.com, kate.mercy@apxstar.com or dawn.myers@apxstar.com . Subject lines for the spams are often something like “Quick Conference Call,” “Add value to your In-house database,” “Add missing data to your inhouse database,” or “B2B/B2C Database.”
